Smoked Salmon Chowder Recipe

Looked through some Smoked Salmon Chowder recipes online and derived this from what looked good from several recipes. Starts with a stick of butter as many tasty recipes do, may not be the most healthy but it sure tastes great and it really sticks with you.

Sauté leek, celery, garlic and carrot in the butter on high heat until soft and starting to brown a little.

Add broth, tomato paste and thyme, bring to boil. Add potatoes, boil for 10 to 15 minutes until potatoes are soft

Whisk the 14 cup flour into the half and half. Turn heat down to medium low and mix in the half and half, heavy cream and Salmon. Let it thicken for a bit. Add salt and pepper to taste, serve.
